Samuel Edmund Oppenheim (1901–1992) was an American Impressionist painter trained under Charles Hawthorne and Harvey Dunn, and influenced by the illustrator Walter Biggs. Known for lyrical genre scenes, still lifes, and figures, he was also a highly regarded portraitist and teacher whose dynamic classes at the Art Students League helped cement his lasting legacy.
